Introduction
Driving always need caution. Careless driving
leads to severe damages even if involved into
minor accidents. However, if a person has an auto
policy, it can help a lot in recovering the damages
and make good the losses that he has made. Basically
auto policy is an insurance policy that protects
a person for any financial loss that has occurred
due to an accident by him. Moreover, it is a kind
of contract between the insurance company and
the person to whom the policy is given. Though
the policies of various insurance companies slightly
differ but all provides the basic indemnities.
These include the insurance of property, liability
and medical coverage. However, different countries
have separate laws regarding auto insurance policies.
Nonetheless there are also certain limitations
where the insurance policy affects the damages.
For instance, according to the Pennsylvania law,
if the insurance policy is restricted for a limited
tort, then one cannot sue for damages for the
injuries other then medical expenses or salary
loss that was not covered by insurance. Furthermore,
if the accident has occurred due to the negligence
of a drunk driver, then the insurance company
provides additional damages even if the insurance
is not for full tort.
Auto Policy to recover damages
Though it happens very rare but some times when minor accidents occurs the parties manage to compensate the damages with out any involvement of an insurance company. However, it is very important to report your insurance company even for minor accidents so the company may help compensating the damages. Therefore, once reported to the concerned insurance company, an auto policy is applicable to bodily injuries as well as compensates both health and property damages. However, if the policy is not limited to the driver only and causes an accident, the family members if listed on the policy are also covered with the policy. So the insurance company pays the damages for any loss either the car is damaged from its rare part of front. As far as damages occurred due to collision to the car in front of him or behind him, the insurance policy also reimburses it. Where the collision coverage is generally deductible of $ 250-$ 1,000 where the company recovers the repairing costs for any material damages of the car either from its rare of front.
Moreover, an auto policy also covers the cost of medical checkup of the passenger in the car. As injury can be internal so it does not matter that the passenger was apparently injured or not, in any case, the checkup is important and the insurance policy pays not only for the expenses of the check up but also for the medical care and treatment of the passenger is injured physically or internally.
